RLS Norway – Foreningen Rastlöse Bein – Norwegian Association for RLS - Education  2011-11-25/27

Foreningen Rastlöse Bein, which is the local Norwegian Association for Restless Legs Syndrome, was restarted some years ago and has today round 300 members. The head quarter  is in Oslo – the capital of Norway. The Norwegian RLS Association gets a lot of support from the Norwegian state and other organizations. They use a specialized company for the administration. This co-operation works well and has led to a much  better financial status. The membership fee in Norway is 250 NOK per year = round 30 € per year. Now the board has decided, to work more to get more new members. One step in that direction is to increase the knowledge of board members in the local  RLS board considerably. As Norway became a member of EARLS during 2011 we were asked to help them get more professional. At a conference in Oslo at the end of November 2011 we – EARLS – helped the Norwegian friend with an extensive educational  activity. We used together many hours to significantly increase the knowledge about RLS. In this activity Mr. Sten Sevborn from EARLS and Sweden was assigned. By this activity the Norwegian board can serve as consultants to the members in Norway to answer  all questions and qualify as specialists in RLS.
